Candice Chow Review @TheCandiceWineChat
Moderately deep crimson, slightly lighter on the rim. This has a distinctive and alluring bouquet with aromas of Bing cherry, cranberry, plum, hibiscus, forest floor, delicate spice and savoury elements. Medium-bodied, aromas of Bing cherry, cranberry and plum entwined with hibiscus, thyme, forest floor, milk chocolate, black pepper and cinnamon. The fruit shows good intensity and weight, driving length and depth on the palate. Plummy acidity entices and carries spice and dusty tannins with elegance to a lengthy, mesmerising finish. A seductive Pinot Noir that shows purity and a sense of place in a youthful state, cellaring will be rewarded. Match with pigeon and duck over the next 10+ years. Fruit from Mt Rose Lodge, 100% clone 777, fermented to 13.5% alc, aged 10 months in French oak barrels, 22% new oak. 19+/20 pts (96 pts) Nov 2024
